Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Alfriston School, a Decile 8 primary school for students in Years 0-8. The Alfriston School zone covers a large geographical area between Manurewa and Brookby, and encompasses an attractive, semi-rural setting. The school site is spacious with extensive rural views to the Eastern boundary and students enjoy large open play spaces year round.

Alfriston School focuses on high quality teaching and learning where literacy and numeracy remain foundational to all other activities. Our team of highly skilled and committed teaching practitioners focus on raising student achievement for all learners. Our results show strong academic, sporting and cultural achievement, sustained over time. Students at Alfriston School benefit from rich learning experiences across the curriculum, including Sport, Education Outside the Classroom, Performing Arts and student leadership.

Students enjoy an inclusive learning environment where trustworthiness, cooperation, acceptance, fairness, pride, respect, kindness and honesty are valued. We strive to deliver learning that is connected, linked to local curriculum design, authentic and exciting for all students.

The school is well resourced with extensive facilities including a swimming pool complex, Performing Arts Centre and all weather sports turf.

The Alfriston School community has served the local region for over 100 years and greatly values its history and tradition. Staff, students, parents and families foster a sense of pride in belonging to a supportive and successful school community and we work collaboratively to create strong educational futures for our students.
