This communication is to let you know about some upcoming events. Alfriston Learners have been working hard on their learning around all things science and are really excited to share their learning with you, whānau and friends. You are invited to attend the “I am a Scientist” open day this Thursday. The classrooms across the school will open from 9.00am-10.15am for you to wander through and experience the learning that has occurred over the term. We then invite you to stay and enjoy morning tea with your tamariki from 10.15am – 10.45am. We look forward to seeing you there.
A big thank you to our Maori whānau who attended this morning’s hui. We value your time and discussion around the preparation of our powhiri that will be held in Term 3. The powhiri is for all of our Alfriston whānau. If you are a new learner or a new family to the school this year (2023) then you are invited to the powhiri as our Manuhiri (visitors) and will be welcomed into our learning community. If you have had an association with the school pre 2023 then you are the tangata whenua (hosts) therefore you will meet inside the PAC and will be welcoming alongside our staff and learners. Again, all whānau are welcome and encouraged to attend, we would love to see as many people there as possible. The powhiri will be held at 9am on Friday 4th August so please put this date in your diary.
